God's Great Love

Good Morning,
God bless you! I hope your weekend was great and I pray that your week will unfold precious promises from the Lord Almighty. We will continue to talk about God's love.

SCRIPTURES OF THE DAY
Ephesians2:3-5
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

Ephesians 2:3 begins by reminding us of the old man (if we are saved, if not please go back to Friday, February 1st blog entry).  Before we were saved we were fulfilling the lusts of our flesh. Whatever our mind told us to do we did. It was our nature to do evil and to sin. But praise God when we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior our very nature changes.
The 4th verse tells of God's mercy and love.
Mercy- an act of kindness, compassion, or favor, the discretionary power of a judge to pardon someone or to mitigate punishment,
God's mercy shields us from punishment we desire.
Verse 4 continues with for his (God's) great love. God has a great love for us! God loves us with an everlasting love. I believe that it is difficult sometimes to grasp just how much God loves us. God loves us so much that He gave His Son to die for our sins. If you have children, are you willing to allow them to die for someone else? No, of course not. Because of your love for your child. But God has a love superior to any love known on earth. And all we have to do is accept His love. I don't know about you but I am so thankful for God's mercy and His great love.
Now because of God's acts of love we are joint heirs with Christ. We are God's children. We have a right to call Him Father.
And the last piece is by grace we are saved. It is not because we were born into a certain family or by the work we do in the community. Not even because we attend church service every week. It is by God's grace, His unmerited favor. Grace allows us to have or receive what we don't deserve.
In the future we will do a study on grace and mercy. Grace brings to us things we don't deserve. Mercy shields us from receiving things that we deserve.
Be conscious of God's great love for you and know that there is no greater love than God's love for you. You are special, You are loved and You are important.
Father God in the Name of Jesus, We thank you for allowing us to see the start of another week. We pray that Your will be done in our lives. Be in our every action and reaction. Father, thank you for your great love for us. Help us to remember just how much you love us and help us to open our spiritual eyes to see how to share your love with others. Because of your love we can stand tall and know that we are somebody in You. Father, we don't have to be intimidated or settle for low self esteem. I speak to every man, woman and child praying this with me today. I declare that you have a healthy level of self esteem. I command you to hold your head high and remember you are God's child. A part of the royal family. No longer will you consider yourself as second class. Father, I pray for the minds of the people. Teach us to walk in your love. In Jesus Name, AMEN.

  1. Praise God for this post. I thank God daily for all his mercies that he has shown toward me and my family. I praise God that I am no longer a slave to sin and the lust of my flesh. God has given me VICTORY and I praise Him for it.
