We will continue to talk about God's love. I pray you have a super day and remember just how much you mean to our Heavenly Father.
SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
1 John 4:19
We love him, because he first loved us.
This scripture is so very true. When we think about when we began to love God we will realize that it was only after we learned of His love for us. We love Him because He first loved us. Thank God for loving me even when I did not accept His love. His unconditional love transformed my life, my thinking and all my ways.
How can we apply this scripture to our everyday life? Think for a moment. Do you have someone in your life who seem to be unlovable? Someone who is very difficult to love? Someone to whom you have tried to reach out to and continue to be rejected. I know, you have said that you are done. You were writing them out of your life. You don't need that kind of drama. Well, let's go back to the scripture. Before we loved God, He loved us. God was long suffering with us. Even though someone is difficult or make it hard for you to love them don't mean that they don't need your love. To be honest, I think that kind of person need to be shown love more than a person we would consider easy to love.
So, what should we do? Pray! Ask God to help you show love in spite of the actions of others. Ask Him to impart AGAPE (the God kind of love) love into your heart. Now that you have prayed for yourself, pray for the individual that is difficult to love. Pray for their heart. Pray that they would be free from the bondage that holds them captive.
Then be willing to work. Love is an action word. Love drives you to do things for the person in whom you love. Ask God how to reach this person. It will cost you time, money and I guarantee it will cost you lots of effort but it will be well worth it when you see the person beginning to respond to your acts of love. God's love for us cost Him. God gave His only Son to die for our sins. Jesus gave His life because of His love for us. See what a difference His love has made in our lives! Are we willing to give of our time, money and effort to make a great positive difference in someones life?
And let's not forget about those people in our lives who continually show us love. Don't take their love for granted. It is wise to reciprocate their love. Let them know how much you appreciate them and the love they share with you. It is an awesome thing to be loved. Let's strive to not just say, "I love you", but to show the people in our lives how much we love them. Send a homemade card, write a love letter, buy a gift, stop by the office just to give a hug, be creative but do something! Love is an action word! Put your love into action today.
Dear God, we pray that you will help us to show love to others even those who seem to be very difficult to love. Father, we pray that you will give us very creative ways to reach them. To show them the same love that you have shown unto us. God, if our acts of love is rejected help us remember that Jesus was also rejected. Help us not to take it personal and help us to continue to love just as Jesus did. Lord empower us to make a difference in someones life. We realize that this may cause us to come out of our comfort zones but God this year we are serious about doing Your will. We know it is Your will for us to show love. Father we thank you for trusting us to make a great difference in the lives of others and thank you for making such a positive difference in our lives. In Jesus Name we pray, AMEN!
