More Eat to live notes

Follow these suggestions for amazing results.
  • Eat less refined and processed food.
  • Eat less fast food, or, better, avoid it altogether.
  • Eat fewer products made with flour of any kind.
  • Avoid products made with high-fructose corn syrup.
  • Do not eat any products listing partially hydrogenated oil as an ingredient, regardless of the type of oil.
  • Do not use vegetable shortening (e.g., Crisco) or products made with it.

It is Wednesday so that means Eat to live notes! Class last night was awesome as usual. Enjoy the info.

  • Always read the label on your food choices.
I thought this was interesting:

I will go deeper tomorrow. Remember that we are the temple of the Holy Ghost! Please take care of your temple.

Lord, teach me...

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
Psalm 25:4 & 5
4. Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.
5. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
The scriptures for today is my earnest prayer. I want God to show me His ways and teach me His paths, to lead me in His truths and be my day to day teacher. We, as Christians, should strive daily to learn God's way of doing things. After learning God's ways and paths we must walk therein. It is not enough for God to teach us but we must also put the teaching into action. God's Word is a great tool to use to understand God's way and paths.
With so much information out here we must depend on God to lead us into His truth. We are a generation who want things done in a timely manner. We are sometimes called the microwave generation because we don't like to wait. But we must learn how to wait patiently on the Lord. We can better achieve this when we know that our God is never late. He is always on time even though its not your timing. If we must wait all day, let's learn to wait on God.

Watch your mouth

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
Psalm 21:23
Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.
It is very important that we learn to control our words. It is a dangerous thing to just say everything you think. To say any and everything that comes to mind. We must show self control over our mouths. A fool says anything. A wise person learns how to keep his tongue. This scripture today says keeping our tongues will keep our souls from troubles. There is enough trouble in our lives without us adding to them by running off at the mouth. (Running off at the mouth is a saying I remember the older generation used). One sign of spiritural maturity is being able to bridle (control) the mouth. If you have issues with your words or controlling your tongue, begin to pray about it and make an effort to watch evey word that comes out of your mouth. After a while, it will become easier. Don't add troubles to your life by having an uncontrolled mouth.

More than a conqueror

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
Romans 8:37
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

I have referenced this scripture before but felt the need to use it today for our scripture. Whatever troubles or situations you find yourself involved in today you need to understand that you are more than a conquer. You can walk through this stage of life and come out victoriously. The key is to go through with God! We try way to often to do thing in our own strength and power. This sets us up for failure. But when we decide to lean and depend on God we can be more than conquerors.
Now being more than a conqueror means that we don't just come out of our situation but we come out with victory. We gain during our troubled situation. We advance, we prosper and we attain. My friend, don't look to just come out but come out with the spoils of your enemy. Isn't that what the children of Israel did when they come out of slavery headed to the promised land?

God is with you

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY

Isaiah 43:2

When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

God never promised us a life that was void of troubles, heartaches and tribulations. We are sure to encounter life's problems just like everyone else. But along with the storms of life we can rest in the fact that God will be with us. Our scripture today gives hope that whatever we encounter, God will not allow it to overtake us. The storms may be fierce in your life but know that with God you can withstand the storm and come out victoriously. Allow God to be your strong tower in the midst of your situations, trials and struggles. God has a way of calming the storms of our lives. Be encouraged and know that whatever you are going through in life right now, God will not allow it to overtake you. You will come through this and you will look back and see how God's protective hand guided you. Don't be discouraged. Lift up your head, read a scripture, sing a song. The storms will cease and you will have a testimony. I leave you with this reminder: You don't have to wait until the battle is over, shout now! (You already have the victory)

Going back to goals

Good Morning,
As I woke up this morning, God placed goals on my mind. So I knew it was time to check on you to see how the goals were going. Pull them out and read over them. Are you on target? If you haven't already please put dates to your small steps. This way you have a time line to keep you on target and focused. Have any of your goals changed? This can happen as you grow and spend time with God. Some times God will give you to adjust or even change completely the goals and aspirations you have prepared. If this happens or has happened, bless God. Just know that the steps of a good man (woman) are ordered by the Lord.

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY

Isaiah 41:6
They helped every one his neighbour; and every one said to his brother, Be of good courage.

If I can help you in any way to reach your goals please contact me. Also remember to look to the hills from whence cometh your help. Your help cometh from the Lord! God is always ready and willing to help. Just ask.

And my last plea is that you stay encouraged. If you haven't met any of your deadlines or even if you have done nothing to this point towards your goals its not too late. Get up, shake yourself and get back in the race. Take baby steps toward your goals and begin to visualize yourself at the finish line. You can do this. You must believe in yourself and in your goal. I heard it said on yesterday that the first step to accomplishment is believing.

Be Blessed, Be encouraged and Be motivated!

Judgement

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
James 4:11-12
11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
12 There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
Do you find yourself judging others often? Have you adopted a judgmental attitude? The scripture tells us to not speak evil of others and not to judge our brothers (or sisters) and if we do we speak evil of the law. If we judge others it is very difficult not to speak evil of them. And we justify our actions by saying, " I'm just telling the truth ." But truth be told we are speaking evil of them. There is another scripture that warns us that if we judge others we to will be judged with the same measure that we are judging.(Matthew 7:1-3) Do you want others to judge you? Being judgmental is an easy attitude to develop but my friend it is not a beneficial attitude. It is negative and will dampen your spirits and cause you to cater to your flesh. As someone who has walked in this judgmental attitude, please accept this advice. It is not worth your energy judging others. When you find yourself in this mode, you are walking in your flesh. Ask God for help and ask Him to give you a change of heart. God is love and we should walk in love offering aid and fellowship to all not judgment. The same mercy that God has extended unto us, let's extend it to others. Walk in love not judgement. Luke 6:36-38 offers this:
36. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
37.  Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
38.  Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

The Word of God

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY

Luke 21:33
Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

Our scripture today lets us know that the Word of God will stand. Many things are evident today and tomorrow gone but we are assured that God's Word is today and will be tomorrow and forever. Hold fast to God's Word and increase your reading and study of it. Act on it and live by it. For it is through the Word that we have victory and knowledge of what is and what is to come. Again, stand firm on the Word of God and know that many things will pass away but God's Word will be a constant.

What are you thinking about?

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY

Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

What have you been thinking of lately? Do your thoughts uplift and encourage you or are they negative and downing your spirits? According to the Laboratory of Neuro Imaging the average person have 70,000 thoughts per day.
Imagine if those thoughts are mostly negative.  We are encouraged to think on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely and of good report. Start monitoring what you think about. If you have a negative thought counter act it with a positive and watch your outlook change.

It's Okay to Boast

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY

Psalm 34:2

My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad

Boast- to speak with excessive pride.

We are normally taught that boasting is not a good practice. But in this case boasting is a good thing. We should boast about the wonderful works of our Great God. When is the last time you boasted on God? When we speak about God and His awesomeness humble people who hear will be glad. It brings joy to the soul to hear of God's greatness.Tell everyone who will listen about God and what He has done and is doing in your life.

Your body is a temple (3)

Scripture of the day

1 Corinthians 6:19 & 20
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
Today I want to look at our eyes and ears. Because our bodies are temples of God's Spirit we must be careful what we see and what we allow our ears to hear. Those things you continually see and hear will become a part of your being. What you see can be inspiring and uplifting and bring glory or it can be damaging and bring destruction. What you surround yourself with will ultimately affect your course of actions. What you repeatedly hear will become your truth. If you continually hear negative comments about yourself it will wear down your self esteem and you will begin to believe those negative comments and then you will begin to act on them as if they were true. If you continually hear positive comments your self esteem will be built and you will believe them and find that you will be more confident. Why? Because what you are hearing has become your truth.
We are God's temple and we want to glory God with our bodies. Is your actions concerning your body bringing glory to God? If not, make a change today. Partner with God to take steps toward making positive changes that will honor God and bring health and healing to your temple.

Your body is a temple (2)

    SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY

    1 Corinthians 6:19

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
There are three areas I want to touch on concerning this scripture. Today we will deal with the mouth or our eating habits. Yesterday I asked you to keep a log of everything you ate. Now I want you to examine your food log and ask yourself if what you are eating and putting into your system (temple) is building it up or destroying it? We must do our best at eating healthy foods and getting exercise. We can't give God our all when we are not healthy. It is difficult to do a good work for the Lord when our bodies are torn down. Make a decision today to do better. Partner with God to make changes that you know God is leading you to make. Pray and ask God for guidance and strength to go forward in creating a healthy temple for the Holy Ghost.

Your body is a temple

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
1 Corinthians 6:19
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

I attended a class on yesterday that truly spoke to my spirit. I will share with you some fragments from the class as well as some insight that God has shared with me. My friend we are the temple of the Holy Ghost and we must provide a place where the Holy Ghost will want to reside. Every choice we make concerning our bodies must be deliberate and well thought out because our bodies don't belong to us. We were brought with the price of God's Son Jesus Christ blood and His very life. Do the decisions you make concerning your body build your temple (body) or tear it down?

We will examine 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 in the coming days.
Please keep a record of what you eat today. We will use it for an exercise tomorrow.

Meditate today on this scripture and really take to heart that the Holy Spirit is living inside of you. Everywhere you go you take the Holy Spirit, Everything you do you expose the Holy Spirit to, Everything you see the Holy Spirit sees and  Everything you hear the Holy Spirit hears.

We will go further tomorrow. I speak blessings into your life today and pray that you will be aware of all that God is doing around you and for you.

Praise the Lord

SCRIPTURES OF THE DAY

Psalm 113:1-3

1.Praise ye the Lord. Praise, O ye servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord.
2Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth and for evermore.
3. From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the Lord's name is to be praised.

This set of scriptures gives a command to a certain group of people. It also addresses when to execute the commend.
The command is to praise the Lord.
Praise is defined as the act of expressing approval or admiration; the offering of grateful homage in words or song.
The command is given to a specific group of people. The servants of the Lord. As a servant of God praising God should be a natural act. Something that comes automatically. However; in the commotion of everyday life even the best of us can neglect to offer up praise unto the Lord our God. Let this serve as a reminder today to take time to bless the name of the Lord. We know that God is most worthy of our praise. And all glory and honor is due unto His name. From the time we wake up to the time we lay down to sleep God's name is to be praised. Think about the blessings of the Lord today. Then render praise for all the manifold blessings of the Lord and for your relationship with Him. What an awesome God! Praise is due unto His name. Lift up your voice today and give God praise.

Just Checking on You

    SCRIPTURES OF THE DAY
    Habakkuk 2:2
And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
    Proverbs 29:18
Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
At the start of the year we made a list of our goals for 2013. Today, I wanted to check on you to see if you are on target with your goals or if you have lost focus. It is very important that you keep your goals close and visit them often. Make sure you have created steps to take toward your goal. Put dates by each step. This will keep you moving toward your goal and give you small victories to celebrate on the journey.
May I offer you this piece of information? If you don't work toward your goals you WILL be in the same place next year as you are today. Your dreams are not going to come to pass with just a prayer and some hope. I don't mean to sound negative or hurtful but reality is faith without works is dead. (James 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? ) Remember the scripture that tells us to consider the ant? ( Proverbs 6:6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise;)  We must get busy. So, my friend, I encourage you to revisit your goal sheet. Even revise it if necessary. God has a way at times of changing our plans! Post it where you can see it daily. Pray over them and seek God for direction. This year is rapidly moving forward and my prayer for you is that you too will rapidly move forward toward your goals. Be encouraged, Stay focused and Get busy!

Love in Action

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY

1 John 3:18

My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

This scripture admonishes us to check our love walk. We know that love has to be put into action but it seems as though as a people we fall short in the area of love. It is easy to say I love you but what actions are you putting behind these words? Do your family, friends, neighbors and those in your circle know you love them by words or by actions? Take a moment and think. What have you done to prove this love? If you lost your voice and couldn't communicate the words, could your deeds speak for you? If not, it's time to make a change. Don't allow your love to be empty professions. True love is a labor of deeds, mercy, grace, understanding and giving of ones self. Let us love in truth, being honest with others and ourselves exercising our love not only with words (which becomes empty and lifeless without works) but with works that are powered by our affections for others.
