Blessed is the Man

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE OF THE DAY

Psalm 84

King James Version (KJV)
84 How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts!
My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.
Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God.
Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.
Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.
Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.
They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.
Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.
Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.
10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
12 Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee

Love Your Neighbor

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY

Galatians 5:14
KJV

14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

So, my friend Who is your neighbor? Is it the family next door to you? All the families on your street? All the families in your neighborhood? The answer is yes to all of the above. But it doesn't stop in your neighborhood. Your neighbor is anyone you are blessed to come in contact with. The stranger in the grocery store. The mean lady in the DMV. The co-worker that gets on your nerves. God has left us a commandment to love them all as we love ourselves. I pray for you today that your love walk will be perfected. Think of acts of kindness that you can do for others today. And go, show love to your neighbor.

Hear My Cry, O Lord

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE OF THE DAY

Psalms 28
KVJ
28 Unto thee will I cry, O Lord my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.
Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle.
Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts.
Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.
Because they regard not the works of the Lord, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.
Blessed be the Lord, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.
The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.
Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.

Great is Our Lord

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE OF THE DAY

Psalm 147:1-8
(KJV)
147 Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.
The Lord doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.
He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.
Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.
The Lord lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.
Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:
Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

Praise the Lord! it truly is a good thing to praise God. My friend, it doesn't matter where or what state you are in right now. God will build you if you allow Him to and give Him your all. He is the only one who can heal a broken heart. God knows the number of stars in the sky. Think about how He knows you and remember the scripture that says that God knows the number of hairs on your head. Why do we even try to hide things from God? It is far better to come to Him transparent. He knows anyway. God will lift up the meek. May I just throw this in.. You don't have to fight your own battles. God will- if we will wait on Him long enough and not take matters into our own hands. Praise God with everything you have. Lift up your voice with thanksgiving and let God know that you are grateful and appreciative.

Your Blessed When

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE OF THE DAY

Matthew 5:1-12

The Message (MSG)

You’re Blessed

1-2 When Jesus saw his ministry drawing huge crowds, he climbed a hillside. Those who were apprenticed to him, the committed, climbed with him. Arriving at a quiet place, he sat down and taught his climbing companions. This is what he said:
“You’re blessed when you’re at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and his rule.
“You’re blessed when you feel you’ve lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the One most dear to you.
“You’re blessed when you’re content with just who you are—no more, no less. That’s the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can’t be bought.
“You’re blessed when you’ve worked up a good appetite for God. He’s food and drink in the best meal you’ll ever eat.
“You’re blessed when you care. At the moment of being ‘care-full,’ you find yourselves cared for.
“You’re blessed when you get your inside world—your mind and heart—put right. Then you can see God in the outside world.
“You’re blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That’s when you discover who you really are, and your place in God’s family.
10 “You’re blessed when your commitment to God provokes persecution. The persecution drives you even deeper into God’s kingdom.
11-12 “Not only that—count yourselves blessed every time people put you down or throw you out or speak lies about you to discredit me. What it means is that the truth is too close for comfort and they are uncomfortable. You can be glad when that happens—give a cheer, even!—for though they don’t like it, I do! And all heaven applauds. And know that you are in good company. My prophets and witnesses have always gotten into this kind of trouble.

Fruit of the Spirit

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE OF THE DAY

Galatians 5:22-23

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Are the fruit of the spirit operating in your life? If not, why? Think on these things. God has freely given. Why have we not freely recieved?

Delight in God's Way

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY

Psalm 40:8

I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

Examine Your Prayer Life

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE OF THE DAY

1 Timothy 2:1 - 2
(TLB)
1 Here are my directions: Pray much for others; plead for God’s mercy upon them; give thanks for all he is going to do for them.
Pray in this way for kings and all others who are in authority over us, or are in places of high responsibility, so that we can live in peace and quietness, spending our time in godly living and thinking much about the Lord.

Is your prayer life extended to others or just you and your family? Let's remember to pray for others as well as for those who are in leadership positions. Don't forget our world leaders and spiritual leaders.

Draw Near and Hold Fast

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE OF THE DAY

Hebrews 10:21-25
(KVJ)
21 And having an high priest over the house of God;
22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Come as a Child

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE OF THE DAY

Matthew 18:1-5
(KJV)
At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

Great is our God

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY

2 Samuel 7:22
(KJV)

Wherefore thou art great, O Lord God: for there is none like thee,
neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have
heard with our ears

Live in the Spirit

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE OF THE DAY

Galatans 5;16-25
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Live Free and Light

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY

Matthew 11:28-30
(Message Bible)

28-30 “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

God's Love

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE OF THE DAY

John 3:15-21
(KJV)

15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Cleave unto God

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY

Deuteronomy 13:4

King James Version (KJV)
Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
There is nothing else that needs to be said. Walk after God and fear Him. Remember the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. If we love the Lord we will keep His commandments. Obey God. To obey God means that we honor and follow His Word (The Bible) and we listen to His voice and prompting and follow His instructions. We serve Him. That is we serve in His service (in the church as well as in the community). And the last thing for today is that we cleave to God. We allow God to be everything in us and to us. Our world is consumed with God! We do whatever it takes to stay close to Him. We communicate with Him (pray). We read His Word and we seek His presence.

HUMILITY

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY

James 4:10

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

Humility is a lost art. In todays society it is rare thing to see a humble person. Our world tells us to be prideful. This is not God's way but the way of the world. Humility is God's way. This scripture informs us to humble ourselves in the sight of the Lord. We know that God's sight is everywhere so that means we should always be humble. When we walk in humility God will lift you up. We don't have to walk in pride and claw our way up or make room for ourselves. We only need to walk in humility. God's plan is better than your plan. God's way is better than this world's way. Walk in humility today and put someone else above yourself.

    Nehemiah 8:10
Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions untothem for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; forthe joy of the Lord is your strength.
Allow the Joy of the Lord to be your strength today! Live in peace, Go in peace and Share peace!

1 Thessalonians 5

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE OF THE DAY

1 Thessalonians 5

1 Thessalonians 5

King James Version (KJV)
But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
12 And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
13 And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.
14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
16 Rejoice evermore.
17 Pray without ceasing.
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
19 Quench not the Spirit.
20 Despise not prophesyings.
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
25 Brethren, pray for us.
26 Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.
27 I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.
28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

Thankful Thursday

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE OF THE DAY

Psalms 47 (KJV)

47 O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.
For the Lord most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.
He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet.
He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.
God is gone up with a shout, the Lord with the sound of a trumpet.
Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.
For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.
God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness.
The princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted.
Sing, Sing, Sing, Sing praises unto our King on today. Sing praises of thanksgiving, gratitude and appreciation to our Most Kind Father. How wonderful are His works! How magnificent is His grace and His mercy. Our God is to be exalted. Think of some things that you are thankful for and make a song of your own to God telling Him how thankful you are and how great He is to you I pray that you enjoy this wonderful day that the Lord has made as you offer unto God a day of singing songs of thanksgiving and praise!

Lord, Watch Over My Mouth

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY

Psalm 141:3 (KJV)
Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.

Wow! Does anything else need to be said? Our mouths can be such a blessing to others and ourselves if we use it properly in a positive form. But do we? More often, we use our mouths to speak negative. If this is you, it is time to ask God to set a watch over your mouth and to keep the door of your lips. Make a concious effort to speak positive. To speak life into your life and the lives of others. Remember the Bible says, life and death lies in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21).  So speak life!

Direct My Path

SCRIPTURE  PASSAGE OF THE DAY

Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV)
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

If you want God to direct your path- to be the leader and guide of your life then this passage of scripture tells you exactly what to do. First you must trust God with all your heart. In trusting God you must not lean or follow your own understanding. Remember our ways are not God's way and our thoughts are far from the thoughts of God. The next thing we must do is acknowledge God in all our ways. That means we must put God first in everything. We must not think that any part of our lives is too big or too small to involve God. When we complete these steps God has promised to direct our paths.
