Effectual Fervent Prayer

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE OF THE DAY

James 5:15-18 KJV

16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

It is time for the saints to be effective and fervent in our prayers. Pray, Pray, and Pray some more.

God so Loved the World

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE OF THE DAY

John 3:16-21 (NIV)

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

The Gift of Christ

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY

Isaiah 9:6 (KJV)
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Christmas should be a time of joy and thanksgiving. God gave us the greatest gift when He gave us His only begotten Son. This season, let's not get caught up in the gifts or arguments of what day Christ was really born. Let's just joy in the fact that He was born. Given as a perfect gift in exchange for your sins. Be thankful and enjoy the love of the season as well as the love of our Great God.

Trust, Delight, Commit

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE OF THE DAY

Psalm 37  (KJV)

Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious
against the workers of iniquity.
For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as
the green herb.
Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land,
and verily thou shalt be fed.
Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires
of thine heart.
Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring
it to pass.

Trust God! Do Good! and Watch God bring your hearts desire to pass. Don't waste time dwelling
on others and what they are doing. God has a time in place to deal with evil doers. Trust, Trust,
Trust God! Then move into delighting in Him! Enjoy spending time with God. Enjoy reading His
Word. Enjoy praying to Him. When we reach this point of delight the Bible let's us know that then
God will give us those hearts desires. Committing to God's way is to live daily according to the Bible. What the Word says we are to do. This is committing our ways to the Lord. For example, we may be accustomed to fighting our own battles but God's way says to let the Lord fight our battles. When
we commit to God's ways and trust Him God has promised to bring it (the desires of your heart) to
pass.  Blessings and peace to you my friend.

My prayer for you

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE OF THE DAY

1 Thessalonians 3:12-13 (KJV)

12 And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:
13 To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

This is my prayer for you. That you increase and prosper- increase in your happiness, your finances, your spiritual maturity, your relationships. I pray that your love would abound toward others. God never have and never will withhold love from us and you my friend should extend God's love to others. Let love abound!
I pray that your hearts be established unblameable in holiness. Help us Lord to take steps toward a perfect heart.
My last request to God for you today is that you understand who you are and whose you are. Dwell in the thoughts of my prayer for you today and go- walk throughout this day, my beloved, in peace.

Live Free

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY

Galatians 5 (KJV)

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
When Christ has freed us from any situation we should walk in that freedom. continue in that freedom and live in that freedom. Don't allow yourself or anyone else to entangle or trap you again in that same way. Living in bondage will never allow you to reach your full potential and maximize your God given destiny. You must live free! Christ has paid the price for our freedom and we should not settle for anything less than living free. If you are bound by something or someone, it is time to break free and walk in the liberty where with Christ has made you free. Remember, we are under grace not the letter of the law. Thank God for grace!

Instructions on Living

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE OF THE DAY

Romans 12:9-21 (NIV)
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.
10 Be devoted to one another in love.Honor one another above yourselves.
11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
13 Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.
16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position.[c] Do not be conceited.
17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone.
18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”[d] says the Lord.
20 On the contrary:
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”[e]
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

This passage of scripture gives us instructions on living our everyday life. Love must be at the center and grace and mercy should be freely given.

Cry out to God

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY

Psalm 120:1 (KJV)

In my distress I cried unto the Lord, and he heard me.

There is nothing that needs to be said about this scripture. It is very simple. When we are in distress
all we need to do is cry out to God. He will always hear your cry! We can talk to God about anything.
He is waiting to hear from you today. Don't wait until you are in distress to talk with God. He wants to
hear the simple as well as the complex things in your life. God will hear if you are willing to talk.

Return to God

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE OF THE DAY

Hosea 14:1-4

(KJV)
14 O Israel, return unto the Lord thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.
Take with you words, and turn to the Lord: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.
Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.
I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.

There are times when we fall away from God's grace. We may find ourselves in a place where
we feel distant from God. Maybe we have sinned, maybe we have not read God's Word or prayed
like we should have - whatever brought you to the fallen situation don't allow yourself to stay there.
God is always gracious and merciful. He is waiting to receive you back into His loving arms. The words
you can take to God can simply be God forgive me. God will take away all your iniquity. He is a God of
love.

Father, I thank you for your loving kindness. Thank you that when we fall and error, you are waiting to
receive us back into your loving arms. Thank you that we don't have to hide anything from you and that
you understand our short comings. You are a God who is willing to strengthen us and help us to overcome
 our weaknesses.

Love that Covers

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE OF THE DAY

Proverbs 10:11-14 (KJV)
11 The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth
 the mouth of the wicked.
12 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.
13 In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod
is for the back of him that is void of understanding.
14 Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near
destruction.

Try to show love today. Use your mouth to spread the love of God. Use your resources to give
the love of God. Allow your arms to hold someone who is hurting. Allow your ears to be a tool
to listen to someone's problem and offer your mouth to speak encouragement. Use your heart
to overlook an annoying habit of a co worker. This my friend is how love covers. The love of
God covered all our hang ups, flaws and frankly put.. sins. Be a person of understanding so that
wisdom will be found in your lips. Use wisdom today as you go about your daily tasks. And
remember God has given us an opportunity to ask for wisdom if we feel we don't have enough-
and who can ever have enough wisdom?  Blessings and peace to you until we come together again.

Behave Wisely

SCRIPTURE PASSAGE OF THE DAY

Psalm 101

King James Version
1 I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O Lord, will I sing.
I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.
I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

The statement in the second verse is a major statement. It should be a daily goal to behave oneself wisely.  As Christians, our lifestyles are examined closely. There are people watching our behavior. We may never see them watching but believe me people are watching you. To be a Christian is to be Christ like. We should strive to emulate the actions and reactions of Christ. This is not to say that we will never fail in this task but if we do we have an advocate with the Father. We must repent and try again.
Please allow me to touch on the latter part of the second verse. I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. Wow! Now this my friend is awesome because most people can put on a show in church and even in the community. The question is.. How are you behaving at home? The God that is watching you in the community and church is the same God that is watching you at home. Your behavior should not change because your location change. Your God didn't change. So, beloved, instead of putting energy into masking your negative behavior at church and in the community let's put the energy into prayer and asking God to change your attitude and behavior by the power of the Holy Ghost. It is this power of the Holy Ghost that empowers us to do those things we can not do within in our natural ability.
The last verse can serve as a warning. Don't allow yourself to be comfortable in seeing wicked things. Watch wickedness long enough and you will become immune to it. It will not look wicked to you for long. It will become normal. Follow the leading of the Holy Ghost. If you are watching television and the spirit speaks and tells you to turn it off. Be obedient. If the office talk turns negative and you know you should not be in the midst of it. Walk away. Don't allow these things to cleave to you. It will eventually cause you to stumble and remember the statement that we started with... I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way.
Be blessed and make an effort today to think before you act.
