SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY
Joshua 1:9
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
God has given us a command. A command is a directive. It means to direct with specific authority or prerogative or to order. God has ordered us to be strong and courageous. He told us not to be fearful or alarmed at danger or trouble.
How can we achieve this command? The answer is in the second part of the scripture. We must always remember that God is with us and greater is He that is within me than he that is in the world.
Whatever "danger or trouble " is in your life right now I admonish you to be strong and of good courage. Courage is defined as the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, etc., without fear. When you go through the cares of life, set your mind on your God not your situation. Let your spirit connect with the fact that God has promised that He will go through everything with you. Lift up your head and know that you have the victory and your God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you could ever ask or think according to the power that worketh in us. Ephesians 3:20.
Listen to the command of the Lord. Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thous dismayed!
