SCRIPTURES OF THE DAY
Psalm 113:1-3
1.Praise ye the Lord. Praise, O ye servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord.
2. Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth and for evermore.
3. From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the Lord's name is to be praised.
This set of scriptures gives a command to a certain group of people. It also addresses when to execute the commend.
The command is to praise the Lord.
Praise is defined as the act of expressing approval or admiration; the offering of grateful homage in words or song.
The command is given to a specific group of people. The servants of the Lord. As a servant of God praising God should be a natural act. Something that comes automatically. However; in the commotion of everyday life even the best of us can neglect to offer up praise unto the Lord our God. Let this serve as a reminder today to take time to bless the name of the Lord. We know that God is most worthy of our praise. And all glory and honor is due unto His name. From the time we wake up to the time we lay down to sleep God's name is to be praised. Think about the blessings of the Lord today. Then render praise for all the manifold blessings of the Lord and for your relationship with Him. What an awesome God! Praise is due unto His name. Lift up your voice today and give God praise.
