Mark 14:36
And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me:nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.
Have you ever found yourself in a situation where what you wanted didn't add up to God's will for you? A time when you wanted to stay but knew God's will for you was to go?
You wanted to walk away from the fire but God said walk through the fire?
This scripture is taken from an account where Jesus was about to face the agony of the Cross. He stopped to have some alone time with His Father. He went off to pray. He recognized that all things were possible to God! And that is still the case today. There is nothing too hard for God. Jesus prayed in a moment of humanness that what He was about to face would be taken away but with the next breath Jesus declared, Nevertheless! not what I will or want but what thou (God) wilt or wills.
My friends we must come to an understanding that God's will for our lives is best. Even in the most difficult circumstances, when we want the cup to be taken away, we must turn our hearts to accepting God's will for our lives. Many "cups" will not be taken away but if you can believe that God knows what's best then it will be with a trusting heart that you can speak, Nevertheless, God, your will be done.
Thank you...sustaining prayer.
ReplyDeleteBless you Pamela. I like that Sustaining Prayer. That sounds like a future blog entry!
ReplyDeleteNevertheless is powerful. When we adapt to a nevertheless heart to God then we receive a life of anointed times and seasons filled with destiny producing power. It is our own fleshly wills that detour us off God's path for our lives into wasted energy and time of mundane living. I don't want to just live. I want to live powerful and meaningful. So I lift up my eyes unto the hills and declare, nevertheless, not my will but thine O Lord.
