SCRIPTURES OF THE DAY
Ephesians 2:8 & 9
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
At times in the Christian community, I think we get off track a little concerning salvation. We are saved by grace through faith. Romans 10:9 states: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. We must have faith to believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. Our part is to confess and to believe. At that point we can accept the wonderful gift of salvation.
Now, here's where we miss the mark. Believing that our works will save us. There is no amount of works that will cause us to be saved. Salvation is not gained through works. You can work in every auxillary in the church and still not be saved. Your works is not going to save you. God knew that if it were by works we would be prideful and boastful. Our salvation comes only through grace and faith. It is not earned by the amout of work you do or the kind of work you do.
I am not discouraging you from working in the church. There are jobs to be done in God's house just like in our homes. Being saved causes us to want to do our part and help to get the jobs of the church done successfully however, we must be aware of the lie of satan that leads us to believe that we are saved by doing work.
Praise God today for the great gift of salvation. If you are not saved my friend, there is no better time than right now to give your life over to the Lord Jesus Christ. Recieve this great gift of salvation.
John 3:16 says
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Romans 10:9 & 13
9.That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
13. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
I invite you to call upon the name of the Lord today, right now. Ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins and to come into your heart and be Lord of your life.
If you have done this, I am happy to say friend that you are saved! Bless God!
