Fear Not

SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY

Isaiah 41:10

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Life can present many unexpected twists and turns. It is comforting to know that we don't have to fear these challenging moments. God has promised to be with us. We don't even have to get down or heavy hearted about these unexpected situations. Because God said He is our God! He promised to strengthen us and help us. What a wonderful insurance policy. God will help me through difficult situations! When you feel that you can't even face tomorrow God said He will uphold you. That reminds me of the old poem Footprints in the Sand. Do you remember that? It is worth reading again.

Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.

Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.

In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.

Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,

other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed

that during the low periods of my life,

when I was suffering from

anguish, sorrow or defeat,

I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord,

"You promised me Lord,

that if I followed you,

you would walk with me always.

But I have noticed that during

the most trying periods of my life

there have only been one

set of footprints in the sand.

Why, when I needed you most,

you have not been there for me?"

The Lord replied,

"The times when you have

seen only one set of footprints,

is when I carried you."

You can lean and depend on God. Don't waste energy with fear. Decide rather to trust God and allow Him to carry you through. Blessings and peace to you.
